Arsenal Ready to Pounce: Ornstein Reveals £65m Release Clause for Red-Hot Bournemouth Star
Arsenal’s January transfer window could explode into life after David Ornstein revealed that Bournemouth star Antoine Semenyo will be available for £65 million once his release clause activates next month. And the Gunners are right at the front of the queue.
Ornstein confirmed that “Arsenal and other clubs can sign a top target who has a £65m release clause in January,” sending shockwaves through the Premier League as one of the division’s most in-form attackers suddenly becomes attainable.
Semenyo has been one of the season’s breakout stars, six goals, three assists, and a reputation as the league’s deadliest counter-attacking weapon. No one has scored more fast-break goals this season, and his explosive pace and two-footed dribbling have terrified defences up and down the country.
Now, Arsenal’s long-standing interest has turned from curiosity to opportunity. With Gabriel Jesus injured and Arteta’s forward line stretched thin, the Gunners may finally go all-in for the Ghanaian.

The clause, inserted when Semenyo signed his new deal in July, “will become active when the winter transfer window opens,” Ornstein reports, giving any club just a tight two-week window to trigger it.
Liverpool, Manchester City, and Tottenham are all lurking, but Arsenal have tracked Semenyo since his Championship days and know exactly what he could bring: goals, chaos, and elite versatility.
For Bournemouth, the timing is a nightmare. Semenyo has carried nearly a third of their attacking output this season. But with the clause in place, they’re powerless if Arsenal decide to strike. They’ve weathered big exits before, Dominic Solanke to Spurs, Dean Huijsen to Real Madrid, but losing Semenyo mid-season would hit hardest of all.
This is the kind of transfer story that ignites a title race. Arsenal need firepower. Semenyo is ready for the next step. And the clock is already ticking.
January could get very, very interesting at the Emirates.
