It’s finally done. After weeks of back-and-forth negotiations, rejected bids, and agent-led talks, Arsenal have agreed a £75m fee with Newcastle United for captain Bruno Guimaraes. What Guimaraes Brings to Arsenal
Why did Arteta push so hard for this particular midfielder? The answer is pretty simple. Guimaraes is one of the most complete central midfielders in the Premier League.
In 195 appearances for Newcastle, he scored 31 goals. He dominated games, broke up play, and dictated tempo. He also captained the side and represented Brazil at the 2026 World Cup.
At Arsenal, he slots into a midfield group that already includes Declan Rice, Martin Zubimendi, Martin Odegaard, Mikel Merino, and Myles Lewis-Skelly. That depth is ridiculous.
