Slavia Prague Star Admits He Uses Arsenal Players in FIFA as Gunners Chase 122-Year Record
Ahead of their Champions League showdown with Arsenal, Slavia Prague midfielder David Douděra has paid the Premier League giants a huge compliment, both on and off the pitch.
The Czech international couldn’t hide his admiration for Mikel Arteta’s in-form side, revealing that even in his virtual football world, Arsenal dominates his lineup.
“It’s a very difficult task, they have almost no weaknesses,” Douděra admitted. “They have the form, it comes easy to them, it is very difficult to find anything to surprise them with. If you want to attack, they use it to their benefit and strike.”
Douděra went on to confess just how highly he rates Arsenal’s current stars, joking that he and his brother can’t resist playing with them on FIFA.
“I play FIFA with my brother and I buy all the Arsenal players for my team, because they are incredible.”
It’s high praise, and deservedly so. Arsenal head into the tie on a remarkable defensive run, having kept seven consecutive clean sheets across all competitions. Should they shut out Slavia Prague tonight, the Gunners will equal a 122-year club record of eight straight clean sheets, a feat last achieved between April and October 1903.
With Swedish striker Viktor Gyökeres sidelined through injury, Arteta has included 17-year-old Andre Harriman-Annous in the travelling squad. The teenage forward, who has impressed in the academy setup, could be set for a dream Champions League debut if called upon in Prague.
As Arsenal chase history and another statement performance in Europe, even their opponents can’t help but admire them, both on the pitch and on the PlayStation.
