‘You’re Coming Home!’ Palmeiras President Drops Bombshell on Arsenal Star Gabriel Jesus
Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus could be on his way out of north London after Palmeiras president Leila Pereira dropped a stunning hint that the Brazilian ace will “come back home soon.”
Speaking to journalist Paloma Tocci on Brazilian outlet Record, Pereira didn’t mince her words when asked about her dream signing.
“Of course, Gabriel Jesus,” she said. “And I’ll say more, soon you’re coming back home, Gabriel! One day you’ll return.”
That bold statement sent Palmeiras fans into meltdown, sparking wild speculation that Jesus could be set for an emotional return to the club where it all began.
The 28-year-old forward came through Palmeiras’ academy and made his name there before joining Manchester City in 2017, firing his way to four Premier League titles.
But his career at Arsenal, who paid £45 million for him in 2022, has been blighted by injuries. His latest, a serious ACL tear in January, has kept him sidelined for nearly 10 months, with a comeback unlikely before early 2026.
In the meantime, Mikel Arteta has beefed up his attack with Viktor Gyökeres, while Kai Havertz has flourished up front, leaving Jesus’s future hanging by a thread.
Reports claim Arsenal could listen to offers of around £30 million, with both Palmeiras and Flamengo circling for his signature.
For Pereira, it’s not a matter of if, but when. Her message was clear: Gabriel Jesus is destined to return home.
And if her words are anything to go by, the Emirates could soon be saying goodbye to one of Brazil’s most beloved sons. But the question is when?
